DECISIONS TAKEN AT THE PLENARY SESSION OF THE CKC-AAA EIGHT ANNUAL CONVENTION,

AT LAUREL, MD, ON 17 JULY 2004

 

The members of the Christ the King College Onitsha Alumni Association In America, Inc., a 501 (c) 3 non-profit, tax-exempt entity, meeting at their Eight Annual Convention, in Laurel, MD, on 16-18 July 2004,

 

  1. Having considered the Report On the State of CKC-AAA and The and Implementation of the Los Angeles Plan of Action submitted jointly by the President of CKC-AAA and the Chairmen of Finance and Endowment Fund and the Project Implementation and Management Committees,  the 2003 State of the School Report and other reports;

 

  1. Having reviewed the 1999 Los Angeles Plan of Action (1999-2004) and its full implementation and having resolved to expand its lifespan for another four years (2004-2008) through and enabling follow-up plan;

 

  1. Reaffirms their commitment to the motto of Christ the King College, Onitsha: Bonitas, Disciplina Scientia and to keeping the school’s claim and aspiration to remain Primus Inter Pares, (first among equals); 

 

  1. Pays tribute to and commend

a.       The President Fidelis Atuegbu and Officers of CKC-AAA for their dedication, commitment and leadership;

b.      Arc.  Frank Mbanefo, President of CKC Onitsha National Old Boys Association, Members of the CKC Old Boys NEC and NAPOC and Principal N. E Olisah, for their selfless service to CKC and  cooperation with CKC-AAA;

c.       Chief , Dr. Alexander D.W. Acholonu, OON, our 2004 Convention Alumni/Keynote speaker;

d.      The Five CKC-AAA members who are the recipients of the CKC-AAA 2003 Exceptional Service Award;

e.       Our hosts,  CKC-AAA Washington DC/Maryland/Virginia Chapter and the City of Laurel, MD for their warm hospitality; and

f.        All the recipients  of the CKC-AAA 2004 Exceptional Service Award (ESA);

 

5.   Calls Upon

a.       CKC Onitsha alumni resident in the Americas to join in the CKC-AAA’s effort to bring the school back to its old glory; and to contribute generously to the CKC Revitalization Endowment Fund; and on

b.      CKC Onitsha alumni everywhere, to join and support ongoing efforts aimed at fully restoring the luster of CKC Onitsha, and celebrating its past, present and future and the contribution it has made to our humanity through its past students which, will culminate during the celebration of the school’s Seventy-Fifth Anniversary in 2008.

 

  1. Adopts the Washington DC Follow-Up Plan of Action as a supplement to the 1999 Los Angeles Plan of Action, and as CKC-AAA’s work plan for Fiscal Years 2004 to 2008,
